——————————— About the author ——
Dan Schlund, known worldwide as “The Rocketman,” is a seasoned stunt performer and one of the few individuals in history to master the Rocketbelt—a rocket-powered device capable of human flight. With a background in stunt work, he has worked as a paramedic, a licensed pyrotechnician, and a producer of live stunt show entertainment, carving a unique path that took him from California theme parks to international stages and screen appearances. In his time as Rocketman, Dan booked and performed countless Rocketbelt flights in over thirty-five countries across six continents, including producing the world’s first water jet-pack performance for the 2012 World’s Fair in South Korea.
The Rocketman may be Dan’s most notable persona, but it is only one small aspect of his many unique skills. Dan’s businesses include both global and national clientele. In the 2010s, Dan started his business National Set Medics, a collection of over 11,000 like-minded EMTs, paramedics, and other emergency medical service professionals who provide producers of TV, film, and events affordable, turnkey emergency medical service nationwide.
Today, Dan spends his time running National Set Medics and bringing the Rocketman or Rocketwoman personas back to life. He has been rewarded by the experience of being executive producer for the documentary The Last Rocketman, and he continues to enjoy bringing his unique experiences to keynote speeches and other documentaries, and especially to this book.
Dan continues to work toward reviving live performances of the Rocketman in new and exciting platforms.
